Fire Department

Frankenlust Township Fire Department was started in 1976. Originally the department stored the Fire Apparatus in Mr. Leinbergers barn until the current station and township hall was built. Over the years the department has grown from a department with just a 2 seat fire engine and a converted milk tanker to a fully modern department. Currently the Frankenlust Township Fire Department has a 2010 Rosenbauer Rescue Pumper, 2001 Darley Engine, 2000 Ford Brush Truck, and a 2012 Ford Rescue Truck. The Department is fully modernized with foam capability on 3 vehicles, 2 sets of Jaws of Life, as well as the most up to date equipment possible. We are currently staffed with 17 firefighters with several members EMT trained and also several with Paramedic certification.

2014 Review

We responded to 338 calls in 2014. The calls were as follows:

15 fires, which range from grass fires to 2 structure fires

225 medical/rescue calls, which include car accidents

12 hazardous condition calls, which include power lines or poles down or on fire

26 service calls, which deal with water problems or leaks

45 good intent calls, cancelled in route or ‘there’s a smell of smoke’

15 false alarms

We are very proud of the Department and its personnel, and would like to thank them for all the efforts they put forward to serve the Township. Your Department now has five paramedic/EMT level personnel and eleven MFR level personnel out of the twenty current members. This is a testament to the dedication that your Department has to training and to providing the best service possible.
